Our Story

I founded The Diaspora for Children Foundation in order to find a way to give back to the communities that raised me. Both my mother and father are from Sierra Lone and I lived there from I was six months old to eight years old. I left Sierra Leone with some of my family members escaping as a war refugee to the neighboring Guinea Bisao. Subsequently, I moved to Jamaica, where I spent my formative years. Jamaica has molded me into the person I am today.  This foundation and its efforts is a way for me to give back to my country and help the children there that are in need. As I was once in their position.

Sincerely and with much gratitude,

Ibrahim K. Konteh
